Rug Concepts

OK this is literally the only way I could think of sharing these images since bluesky is dumb

I added some quick color just to better visualize. The letters won't be outlined - they'll just be solid color against a solid color background. This is to scale and would be about 5.5 inches, which is around the size of the trans flag turned sideways. You can see how small some areas around the letters are compared to the trans flag lines (I don't have the cat anymore to show a comparison). I am a little concerned some areas might look weird

You can see here how the thin lines around the ears and at the edges look a little wonky. Note that the claw and eye lines are flat, not fluffy, which is why they look crisper. I think some of the thinnest areas around the letters may look a little wonky like these thin lines
Is it the end of the world? Not at all. I think it would still be legible. The letters would probably look better flat, though. By the way when I say "flat" I'm referring to the back of the rug, which looks like this:

For the cat, I stitched certain areas "backwards" so that the back of the stitch was on the front. It could be interesting to have only the letters be fluffy and the black flat. It's also possible to make the entire rug flat, which would look like a nice traditional patch but maybe looses some of the charm of having a fluffy rug patch
The other option is to make the rug bigger. At this size it is a nice shoulder or maybe pocket patch, but it could easily double and be centered on the back of the jacket. I could also arrange it different: lets say we double the size. I could make it a foot wide as opposed to long like it currently is, and you could attach it to the top of the back of the jacket like a banner or title
There's always the option to abandon this entirely. I can do a rug of just your sona (maybe even a splat rug like the cat?) or just a headshot. And I'd love to do more pride flags, too. Take your time thinking about it and let me know
